If Elon Musk was to create a new phone apart from Apple and Android iOS

That means two things:

1. Assuming that he doesn't create his own OS, Android will be used.
2. He will have to create a new app store and that will take time, especially getting the companies that create apps to join.

So it might not be feasible, or even if feasible, it will be time consuming and takes a long time.
 
I just looked. Apparently the copyright of Android belongs to Google. So that means he needs a different OS.

Lots of manufacturers use Android, Google also makes its own phones using Android.

Microsoft doesn't own every manufacturer of PCs either.

Its licensed software. They are happy to take the money of anyone with money to spend.

You really need to stick to recipes and skincare products, you are lightyears out of your league on these subjects.

The only possible way for Musk's phones to have Twitter on them is that they come pre packaged.

Not very many users know how to custom install apks.

Okay I apologize. I should have included context to make my OP clearer. I assumed everyone on JPP knew the story.

Google controls Google Play and decides what apps can be on it. If Google removes an app such as Twitter from Google Play then Samsung and every other Android phone can't download it without jailbreaking Android on the phone and bypassing the security that prevents unsafe apps from being installed.

Musk could sell phones with Android that have Twitter already installed but that raises some real security issues. It would mean Twitter would be writing the code for any Android updates so that the phone doesn't disable Twitter when it gets security updates. It would leave Musk's phones open to being hacked every time a new security issue is found. They would be the least safe phones to own in the world since they would rely on Musk to keep Android on the phone updated instead of relying on Google. When a security issue is found, Google would spend 24 hours writing a patch to fix it. Once the patch was sent out, Musk's engineers would have to take that patch and test it to make sure it doesn't harm their phones. Musk and Twitter don't have the resources of Google. It would probably take at least a week if not a month for them to push out the security update. No sane person would use one of his phones.

Good grief, really? No, they own the OPERATING SYSTEM that Samsung uses on it's phones. Is this really that difficult for you?

Elon does not remotely have a the bandwidth for this project, a fact that SpaceX and Tesla employees and investors will drive home.

To be fair, I should have included the context in my OP because I assumed everyone on JPP knew the story. But still he could have had asked me questions to get me to clarify further.

But yeah like you said, what the fuck? Of course everyone knows phones from different companies use Android. Google owns Android. Therefore Musk needs to use a different OS if he wants his phone to be able to download Twitter app.

I meant Android and iOS.

Android is number one OS for mobile phone.
iOS is number two.

Duopoly is an interesting term. It means two companies dominate the market instead of one company (monopoly).

Just tested Android in Virtualbox. Apparently I didn't do the settings right but I've managed to get to the login. The login is just like any other Unix/Linux OSes. It kept crashing a few times so clearly I didn't do it right (Hint: I didn't read the instruction because fuck em).

But yeah Android is just the same as any other Unix/Linux Distros.
