If the whole idea was a stable Iraq that wouldn't be a "safe haven" for Al Qaida...

Then why did we invade again?
 
We Americans have a hard time believing we the beacon of freedom and democracy in the world would invade a country and kill hundreds of thousands over oil. but that is the truth of it.
 
Well, in general, there's no "better" way -- from one point of view, anyway -- to stimulate the economy than to start a war. So long as it's not a long, unpopular war. Oil is only one facet of the larger picture.
