Illegal immigration - how should it be mitigated?

It's not my fault if you're retarded
I favor a mixed approach.

Enforce all existing immigration laws and petition Congress to enact and the President to sign amendments and additional legislation as necessary. Urge the President to utilize Executive Orders wherever possible to expedite critical, time-sensitive policy improvements.

Expand the federal border workforce by offering lateral in-grade transfers to existing federal employees likely to be displaced or discharged by DOGE.

Reform asylum processes by adjudicating claims before applicants reach the U.S. border. As needed, staff consulates and embassies with auxiliary personnel.

Cut off all access to benefits for illegal immigrants within the borders of the United States. Extend the ban to private "charitable" organizations.

Mandate E-Verify for all employers. Punish non-compliant employers swiftly and without mercy to the fullest extent of the law.

The construction of border walls or fences will physically deter some illegal crossings. A heavily militarized zone with electronic and physical patrols will be intended to serve as an forceful and immediate deterrent to those attempting illegal incursions. The authorization of the use of deadly force must be widely publicized, clearly demonstrable and ruthlessly applied.

Increase the frequency and speed of punishment for those caught entering or living illegally in the United States. Expand the immigration law courts as necessary within practical limits. Make the most extreme penalties for violation of US immigration law mandatory without recourse to prosecutorial or judicial discretion. Expand the facilities for convicted aliens as needed and expedite their permanent expulsion from the United States of America.

Cease all US aid to nations that fail to cooperate with the United States in a manner we deem acceptable, and apply diplomatic and/or economic sanctions to egregious offenders.

Anything else?
