This is the story of Julio Esteban Batista-Castillo.
"Sanctuary" city officials let him out of jail on November 18, 2023, despite having arraigned him on multiple felony charges earlier that day.
They ignored an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer to hang on to the accused.
For the Democrats reading this, I suppose I need to explain what an ICE retainer is: it's a simple request for law enforcement officers to hold him in custody for a short time so ICE officers could arrest him
Let this sink in: The Roxbury District Court in Blue Boston had arraigned him that same day on multiple assault and battery charges, kidnapping, malicious destruction of property, breaking and entering and home invasion before releasing him.
His arraignment came more than a year after he unlawfully entered the United States in January 2023.
