I'm sick of all politicians. Period.

Whether they are liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat, most (like 99%) are self-serving glory seekers.

All politicians sell out to those who donate to their re-election campaigns. Whether its from the NRA or the Sierra Club.

Where saying the right thing and saying the right politically correct thing are 2 different entities.

When politicians become too comfortable in their seats, thats when they start to really sell out.

So really, i'm calling for two reforms to the government system.

Only individual donations (i.e. no donations by companies/entities) and also term limits.

These 2 things combined would help to clean up the corrupt system.

CK out.

You'd have to change alot more then that. The elites control the economy. They have successfully transferred power from government to their hands via capitalism. Should a candidate be elected that does not tow to their interests? They would make him useless as a leader. The media would demonize him.her. The companies would start to strike. They would make sure that everything he sets out to do, he fails.

This guy would have to take the power back out of the hands of the elites and hand it back to the government. The elites use that wealth to buy alot of influence and if the elite's wealth was threatened, so would the wealth of those who serve them, thus they would call the dogs on you. Basically we are talking civil war. The poor outnumber those eating at the pig troughs but those eating at the pig troughs are better armed.....And can buy support and then dump them when they are no longer needed. Sort of what a country does with their soldiers.

I see your point, how about campaign contribution limits for all individuals, $1000 max.

No donations by companies, unions, NGOS, etc....

If people really want to buy influence i.e. George Soros or Rupert Murdoch....than they will have to find a few thousand people and give them each money and ask them to donate to the politicians.....

It would make it alot harder to use and abuse influence through money.....

I already suggested limiting cash donations for candidates. The American Supreme court did one better. From what I understand, they increased foreign donations. Now people outside the country have a say in American economics.

How the Americans allow this crap is beyond me. And Canadian policy is also heavily influenced by foreigner corporations also. Thanks to free trade. They are stuffing the politician's pockets with money. How do you stop back room deals?

By limiting campaign donations, it still gives the wealthy an advantage over the grass root movements. We need a cap on campaign spending. For example every candidate should only be allowed to spend a certain amount of money on ads and such. The cost of campaigns in America have reached ridiculous proportions.

Though they would still be able to spread their money to local radio stations(behind closed doors) and what not. But if they lose, they lose their money. Today, even if you are on the losing end of the campaign, you can still negotiate for your constituents who donated to your cause in congress/senate whatever. That is how capital hill works.
