Teflon Don
I'm back baby
I know that the left has been in various states of spin mode yesterday. Everything form "nothing burger" to "constitutional crisis".
But this is why the memo matters. It is clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that the awesome powers of the NSA were unleashed on a political opponent based on a dubious document
When applying for a warrant using information from an informant the applicant indicate why they think the informant is reliable. I am sure in Steele's case they told the judge "he has given us good information before".
The FISA application should have said why Steele was credible.
The FISA application should have said whether the information was verified and how it was verified since it was coming from only one source (enter the Yahoo story by Michael Isikoff)
The FISA should have indicated that Steele was paid by the DNC, Hillary Clinton and that even the FBI
People are also forgetting that the Steele dossier has information that Steele obtained information from Russians whom he himself paid. This is double hearsay, which means the courts must be told why the Russians paid by Steele are reliable
This is not the end. Now we will want to see the FISA application to verify the Nunes Memo claims. If it is proven that the application was obtained through lying to the judge then it means the warrant was improperly obtained.
NOW THIS IS THE REALLY IMPORTANT PART
If it is proven that the FISA Application was improperly obtained then ALL of the evidence gathered as a result of that original warrant is to be suppressed, which means it cannot be used in a criminal prosecution.
Why is this relevant? Well, this is how they got Michael Flynn. This is probably why Mueller requested a delay in Flynn's sentencing. He now knows that any evidence he had against Flynn is out the window and he is trying to figure out another way to get him.
Everyone thinks that Trump is going to use this to fire Mueller. That would be the last thing he should do. He should let the investigation proceed because anything Mueller finds on the basis of an improper warrant is NULL and VOID.
