Inspiration from Animal Farm
Nov. 22, 2020 | (Minghui.org)

Animal Farm, a novel by George Orwell published in 1945, was banned in the former Soviet Union, China, and other socialist countries. Why did a story about animals trouble communist parties around the world so much? The fable, written more than a half century ago, is an analogy, opening a window for us to see various forms of slavery in the real world.

The Story of Animal Farm

Animal Farm depicted the process a group of farm animals went through in fomenting and implementing an uprising against their human farmer for equality, but how they eventually ended up with a dictatorship. Under the pigs’ leadership, the animals rebelled against the suppression of the human ruler and fulfilled their wish to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. They renamed the farm “Animal Farm,” and the animals were the owners. They adopted the Seven Commandments of Animalism, the most important of which was, “All animals are equal.”

However, two pigs within the leadership, Napoleon and Snowball, engaged in internal strife. Napoleon used propaganda to label Snowball a traitor and spy. As Napoleon gained more and more power, he created a new privileged stratum. Any farm animal who had a grievance was killed or driven out. The Seven Commandments were eventually abridged to just one phrase: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” The animals completely lost their freedom and ended up in a state as bad as, or worse than, before.

Things that have happened during the Soviet Union, Communist China and other communist countries in Eastern Europe were projected vividly in Animal Farm. The day these communist parties seized power in different countries was the day the people were enslaved and the start of bloody internal strife.

Joseph Stalin persecuted 20 million members of the Communist Party through the Great Purge. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s internal strife left only one out of its ten supreme commanders. Countless members of the Chinese Communist Party were labeled counter-revolutionaries and persecuted. In total, the CCP has caused about 80 million unnatural deaths through its many political movements.

What If Joe Biden Becomes President?

Given Joe Biden’s plans to increase taxes, implement more medical subsidies and adopt other socialist economic policies–all essentially Communist slogans–we can’t help but ask what will happen if he is elected.

When Biden announced himself “President-elect,” many groups including socialists, gays and lesbians, and Black Lives Matter rushed into the streets to celebrate. A transgender person cried out, “Liberated!” and a naked woman joined a parade and took pictures of herself.

It’s not difficult to imagine more laws and regulations being passed that violate traditional ethics and morality. In fact, many such laws have been passed in California, including the legalization of marijuana, providing free needles and drug injection sites, and allowing minors to change their gender using medical insurance without their parents’ knowledge.

Renowned lawyer Lucian Lincoln Wood, who recently joined President Trump’s legal team, said the U.S. is facing a Constitutional crisis. In his speech in Georgia on November 6, 2020, he said that in “43 years of practicing law I never dreamed the day would come where I would be in the United States of America and there would be censorship. If they take away your right to free speech what are they going to take away next?”

Wood said if people’s right to free speech is taken away, next would be people’s right to go to church, followed by their First Amendment rights, Second Amendment rights, and then the right to due process. After that, people might be put in jail without a jury trial for being “a dissenting voice to the ruling elite.” “This is about truth versus lies,” he said.

Isn’t what Wood described akin to the fable Animal Farm and things that have truly happened in socialist countries?

Both the Communist parties in China and the Soviet Union had promised people a happy life. They started with egalitarian practices, like public dining halls. Those who didn’t work could also enjoy the fruits of others’ labor. As a result, production stagnated and incomes fell short of expenditure. Communists soon spoke with guns in their hands: the most affluent people had to surrender their assets. When the money was used up, the Communist parties ordered that the middle class pay high taxes, which crushed them. And then, the Communist parties told the farmers to pay a land tax for their houses.

Isn’t this exactly what is happening in today’s China? The CCP has scooped up assets from the middle class with monthly mortgages on incredibly overpriced houses and robbed private enterprises with its recent mixed ownership reform. According to the latest news, the CCP is preparing to collect taxes from farmers for rural residence land use. What will happen next?

2020: A Landmark Year in History

The year 2020 is a pivotal year in history. People are awakening, and justice will prevail. During the U.S. presidential election, over 220,000 reports of election fraud were received within the first 12 hours. President Trump’s team had launched a website to collect evidence of voter and election fraud.

Hollywood star and Academy Award recipient Jon Voight openly said it was a lie that Biden had been elected. In Voight’s video released on November 10, 2020, he called what the U.S. is facing “the greatest fight since the Civil War, the battle of righteous versus satan.”

“Let’s give our trust to God and fight now for Trump’s victory, because we all know this ballot count is corruption, like they are, so let’s not back down. Let us fight this fight as if it is our last fight on earth. As Muhammad Ali said, ‘It’s not over till the last punch you have,’” Voight said.

Supporters of President Trump held peaceful protests in different cities around the U.S. last weekend to draw attention to election fraud. One of the supporters said, “We are here because we don’t want socialism or communism. We don’t want our rights stolen.”

Crisis and hope go hand in hand. The future of the United States depends on the will of the people. As President Reagan said, “Evil is powerless if the good aren’t afraid.”
