There seems to be a misunderstanding of what an insurrection is.

Let us review the definition of the word:

Merriam Webster: "an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government"

Seems pretty clear.

January 6th meets the definition.

But the Trump Party is struggling with this.

If they are going to embrace the act, at least own the word.

Disingenuous Deplorables are going to cling by the fingernails to the assertion insurrection cannot be real unless a criminal conviction is made in court.

Which is like saying infidelity cannot be real unless it is documented in a divorce proceeding.
 
There seems to be a cognitive disconnect by Democrats, and those on the Left. Insurrection requires insurrectionists, and given the number of people arrested for the Jan 6 riot, if it were an "insurrection" you'd think at least a few of those would have been charged with that, but none have.

What if you held an insurrection and no insurrectionists showed up...?

That's the dumbest shit I have seen on the protest. Trying to re-define the true meaning only makes leftists look dumber and less honest.

Let's be clear; the ONLY people who got killed that day were UNARMED protestors. One, a military veteran, was shot by a black police officer while UNARMED.

There was no insurrection. There was no real effort to overturn the Government. Making claims like this diminish the real meaning and make the morons who suggest such stupidity look dumber.

It's similar to labeling anyone who you disagree with a racist or White Supremacist. After a while, people point at you and laugh.
