I actually agree with this analysis

The one thing to take away from this poll that should frighten the democrat party is the "He cares about people like me". Now, personally, I think it is a BS marker for choosing a President, but I can only deal in fact. The reason this should be worrisome for the democrat party is that in 2012, Obama crushed Romney in the "He cares about people like me"
Additionally, all Trump needed to do was come across as plausible as President. He did that. Was he "pitch perfect"? No honest person would claim that he was. But, he was plausible. He didn't rant and rave like the caricature the Clinton campaign has tried to portray.
In the end, Trump will come out of this OK.
