Ceasefire is threatened as Israel expands Lebanon strikes and Iran closes strait again

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — The U.S. demanded Wednesday that Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz after the Islamic Republic closed the waterway in response to Israeli attacks against the Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon. Iran’s move cast doubt over whether an already precarious ceasefire to end more than a month of war would hold.

This wasn't even an issue before Trump started his war. Prior to March 3, maritime traffic was flowing through the Strait unimpeded.
The corporate oligarchy that made Pigshit's reign possible
has always made a lot of money from war profiteering.

Obviously, the closed strait doesn't cost them nearly as much money as they're making manufacturing munitions.

Unless one has actually experienced being expendable cannon fodder for them,
it may be hard to understand.

Iran Tightens Its Grip on Hormuz Despite Cease-Fire

Trump demanded opening the strait. Tehran’s Revolutionary Guard is limiting ship traffic and charging tolls

Iran told mediators it would limit the number of ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz to around a dozen a day and charge tolls under the cease-fire struck by President Trump, showing Tehran plans to tighten its grip on the world’s most important energy-shipping lane.

Ships that pass will have to coordinate with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the powerful paramilitary group that has been labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the European Union, Arab mediators said.

True, it was considered international waters free from any national control, now, Trump has pretty much given control of the Straits over to Iran
True, Trump turned the strait of Hormuz from international waters to Iranian sovereign territory.

Trump is also allowing Iran to collect tolls to fund their radical Islamic government, and dictate who can pass the strait.
