I remember Old Mooch saying once that she just couldnt understand why there were food deserts in certain areas of big "blue" cities.


Well Mooch.....

" Gee, I can either put my new Supermarket in this area where I have to surround it in razor wire, set up land mines, and hire my own personal army to guard it.......Or I can put it in a nice problem free area and count my cash by the truckload. This is quite a tough decision said no business person EVER." :laugh:

Having watched immigrants put together well functioning food delivery services in both America and Germany so that they could get the foods they were accustomed to I have long thought that this "food desert" idea is mostly bullshit. If people in these cities wanted good cheap food they could organize and get it done, but they dont...they refuse to do the work.

"We spend too much of food and are in bad health because we dont have a Safeway near, we are oppressed!" does not work for me.
