there are still cases where it is misused and likely will continue to be misused, however, largely it is properly used. and a general growing proper use of religious freedom is a good thing because it applies to everybody.

Indeed. Very good memory because I remember that, especially the countless commercials influencing people thinking that teachers would teach homosexuality in schools by reading books regarding homosexual characters.
