If you were you'd know that I already defeated the evil Mayan Prediction Team and saved the world. You're just trying to get out of sending me that fiver you all will owe me when this is over. (Yup, all this sacrifice for just one fiver from each of y'all. I took it all on!) Sneaky trying to get out of it by interstellar travel. Don't worry, I'll find you.
 
After dealing with some of the crazies on here, STY, Yurt, USF, ILA, Bravo, SRwhatever...the aliens, whomever ever they are, will be a welcome breath of sanity.

Obviously his sundial was a couple of hours out. The Swiss were not exporting accurate sundials in those days.

Also, people, the Mayans lived essentially in my beloved Pacific Standard Timezone. So knock the fuck off with this Eastern and GMT crap. I don't mind GMT so much, but Eastern time is just utterly useless!

Time had not been invented then. The sun rose and fell at different points in the day depending on which side of the country one was in. The British were the first to 'control' time hence Greenwich and not Washington and it was 'controlled' because of railway timetables, not for a bunch of backward tribes on the American continent ... or the Mayans.
