Iraq’s parliament has passed amendments to the country’s personal status law that legalises child marriage.

The amendments give Islamic courts increased authority over family matters, including marriage, divorce and inheritance.

The changes passed on Tuesday would let clerics rule according to their interpretation of Islamic law, which allows marriage of girls as young as nine under the Jaafari school of Islamic law followed by many Shia religious authorities.

Proponents of the changes, which were advocated by primarily conservative Shia lawmakers, defend them as a means to align the law with Islamic principles and reduce western influence.

I'm told that there's no age of consent in jail, Dodgy-Knees. Guard your bum.

Haw, haw.......................................haw.

Saudi Arabia won’t allow any alcohol consumption whatsoever at the 2032 World Cup.

This is what their UK ambassador said: “Everyone has their own culture. We're happy to accommodate people within the boundaries of our culture but we don't want to change our culture for someone else."

Fair enough.

How ironic that this statement sums up exactly what should be true for everyone.

Only in the West are we supposed to abandon our own culture, accept practices way outside our norms, and pay through the nose for the privilege of accommodating foreigners from Muslim countries.
