Italian man shot in the head stunned doctors by sneezing out the bullet

Italian man Darco Sangermano who got hit in the head by a .22 calibre stray bullet stunned the doctors by actually sneezing it out. This man was partying in Naples on the New Years' Eve along by his girlfriend.

A stray bullet went through Sangermano’s temple, just behind his eye and then while entering the nasal cavity hit a bone in the nose and got lodged in his nostril. According to Daily Mail it is a common practice of using firearms to celebrate New Year.

Sangermano, 28 years old labourer was immediately taken to the hospital where he amazed the doctors by sneezing out the bullet. He then when through a tidy-up surgery that involved cleaning up the wound and removing bone fragments.

Prof Sid Berrone who operated upon Sangermano said “This was a very strange case and the first of its kind I am aware of. He was a very lucky man; he could have been easily killed”. Sangermano is doing well and according to doctors he will make a full recovery without any loss of eye sight.

Sangermano has returned to his hometown Turin after being discharged from the hospital.
