2 .600 teams in the same division. You guys dont like sox and yankees? Get used to it.

Just so amazing how must the Al east crushes. 2 teams above 600, 4/5 teams above 500.

Look at poor tampa bay, 11 games out already but if they were in central they would likely being going for division, instead of inferior sucktastic detroit having the spot.

On another note:

I can't believe they are going to add another wildcard next year, to let more of the proles in. It fucking sucks for supremely awesome teams like sox and yankees, because 9/10 if we dont win our division we are getting the wildcard. So we might end up with a 100+ win team falling prey to a variance fest with a 1 game wildcard showdown. fucking. RETARDEDDDDDD.

anyway goodnight. al east pwns.

No it's not dumbass.
Baseball besides being gay is 5 or 6 real teams and a bunch of double A tripple A teams developing talent to be bought by the AL east.

Yea..that's what you said last year and ya'll still lost to the NL!

Why would it be amazing? 2 of the teams in the AL East spend more than the rest of the MLB combined.

i explain this ad infinitum but a shit load of our good players are homegrown and we pay them very little. Pedroia, ellsbury, youkilus, papelbon, bucholz, all homegrown. Most all mvp contenders.

Truthfully we seam to blow all our money on money pits. Like giving a shitload to dice-k, j.d. drew, lackey, etc.

Blah, blah... Many of the good players are paid a crapton to keep them there. Let's take the Rockies. Many of the players they brought up went on to awesome careers elsewhere, they just couldn't afford to keep them along with all the others...

When money is no object the best of teams can be kept/built. Pretending that a payroll that beats out over half of the MLB combined together doesn't mean that you aren't buying wins is a bit foolish. Even if they did "come up from the farm"...

Basically if every team spent that much, every team could keep those players they let go due to high salaries, all the teams would be better.

There is a reason for salary caps in other sports.

well the point is we spend a ton of our money on garbage players and we have a ton where we aren't paying a lot and getting a ton of performance out of them. We have a great farm system. The point is money isn't buying us these likely 100 wins this season. It's our ability to find raw talent at an early age and bring them up.

damocles is a baseball socialist.

Why? Because I don't think it is "amazing" when NY and Boston win a ton of games when they pay so much for players?

The stats pretty much tell us that the big market teams with tons of cash are better able to afford a more powerful lineup. It makes me less than surprised when they win often. Yeah, on occasion you get a small market team who wins, but over all it is the huge payrolls that win the games.

again for the billionth time, money isn't buying our wins. money is going into money pits like dice-k, j.d. drew, lackey etc. All of our mvp contenders are getting paid pennies.
