Here we've discovered one example where forgiveness is a character flaw.

Eventually, we're going to win--decisively.
Even if they succeed in bringing down the republic, they're losers and losers always lose in the end.
Once they've lost, they will be incapable of being rehabilitated.
They're defective and deficient in all the meaningful ways.

I'm a pragmatist. I prefer we meet in the middle. IMO the 'Red Team/Blue Team' mentality of 'Winner Take All' is unproductive.
