"When you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head ... You can take the hand away, okay?” The president wasn't really encouraging cops to rough up detainees, he was just joking.

"I love Wikileaks." Three years later, Sarah Sanders explained the president was making a joke.

"I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building (WTC) was coming down." That wasn't a joke, he really thought he saw them.

"Our country needs a truly great leader. We need a leader that wrote The Art of the Deal.” That's probably his best joke; but if you know of a better one, let's hear it.

It is one of the right's biggest excuses for Trump, "he was only joking," or' "you don't appreciate Trump's humor," I can even recall GOP Senators using it to deflect questions on some inane statement Trump made

The next biggest is, "he didn't break any laws, did he?"

Amazing how when Trump flaps his lips or pushes buttons on his phone, the minions suddenly become comedy critics and lawyers, isn't it?

Ironic that nobody seems to 'get' Schiff's humor.
 
Trump has never, ever showed a scintilla of humor. He is the dourest man we have ever had to put up with. He never says things humorous. He says things stupid and wrong. When he cannot lie his way out of that, he claims he was joking. He is never joking.
