"...And the truth is that Mr. Obama and the GOP's own "defund ObamaCare" caucus have put Speaker John Boehner and House Republicans in a difficult spot. If they now surrender empty-handed, their Ted Cruz faction will denounce them as sellouts. But the longer they hold out for compromise from an AWOL President, the more chances increase that the public will turn against GOP governance."

AND;

"We opposed this shutdown strategy precisely because the congressional math made this box canyon so clearly inevitable."

Yo've got it! If Obama holds firm it could spell the end of the baggers and that's something that needs to happen before your country will be able to get back to something near normal.

The problem isn't the Tea Party. They make up about 70 to 80 Representatives in the House total.

The problem is the mainstream GOP being shanghaied into going along with the Tea Party caucus. The constituents of the TP caucus aren't going anywhere.

The mainstream GOP constituency however, may very well vote Democratic in 2014 because of the obstruction, the pointlessness and all the misery that came along with it. Not all....but possibly enough to give control of the House back to the Dems.

If the GOP has any brains at all, they will stand up to the extremists that have been bullying this country.

The reps have tried to fund the gov't with every bill that has gone to Harry.

And now Harry says he'll let children with cancer die before he'll take less than what he wants.

Watch the video, Harry Reid did not say that, he was flustered by the question clearly and handled it poorly, but that is not what he said.

Maybe, but the reps keep trying to fund the gov't, but Harry won't do it.

The longer this goes on, the more the media is going to have trouble hiding the fact that the only real reason for the shut down is Harry, Obama, and the dems.

If you say so... time will tell.

All they have to do is pass a clean bill. Why is that so hard for them?

You know, now that I think about it, Harry said why would I save the life of a child? He literally said that with his statement.

If he said something stupid, it happens under pressure.

Because the repubs won't pass a clean bill, they are depriving the kids of cancer treatment along with depriving infants of food from WIC, keeping children out of head start programs, and hurting a whole of other people. Why don't THEY care about hurting children?

Because I and 150,000,000+ people told them to get something for it. If all they can get is the mandate pushed back a year,,,,, then make it happen.

What's so unreasonable about pushing the mandate back a year?

I think his true heart came out in that statement. That's what pressure can do.

And the repubs have sent over bills to fund these things, and Harry won't look at them. It's not the repubs that are being unreasonable. And as time goes on, the voters are going to see that.

He put it in a very callous way, but what he meant is that they are not going to pass a measure here, a measure there, they need to pass all or nothing. They can't just pass the measures they like and support.

No, they don't, not in reality, if they really wanted to fund the government they would pass a clean bill and fight ACA on its wn, not holding up the rest of the budget.
