The Department of Justice said on Tuesday afternoon that a disturbing letter released as part of the Epstein files and appearing to be from the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to convicted sex abuser and former Olympic gymnastics coach Larry Nassar is a fake

Well, duh... It's difficult to send letters from a prison you aren't in after you are dead.
Letters out of prison are usually postmarked several days(or even a week) after the prisoner sent them. They must first be read by staff of the prison, and then they are sealed and handed over to the postal service that postmarks them.

This letter fits the timeline perfectly. It would have been collected from Epstein unsealed. Sent to an offsite facility in Virginia, where it would be gone over, sealed, given to the postal service several days later, and postmarked then.

The DOJ claims that the handwriting is wrong, but there is some disagreement about that. The DOJ claims that outgoing mail requires to have prisoner numbers on it, which while it is a rule, does not seem to have always been enforced.

Walt is trying to defend an obvious fake . What did I say. The facts don't matter to Democrats they want to believe this sham of a lie.

We'll go through it again. Mail from NY does not go to Virginia to get mailed in someone else's handwriting from a prison in which he is not held.

You have to be a special kind of stupid, probably Walz level stupid, to believe this letter is anything but fake.

And no one, prison staff etc said anything about this letter for 6 years....

Mail from a small NYC facility cannot be processed there, so would be sent to a bigger, better equipped facility to be processed. That is many time Virginia.

The handwriting is claimed, but not proven yet. There are surprisingly few handwriting samples from Epstein.

However, mail in NY state is processed in NY. Stop being deliberately stupid. You have to be truly Walz level special to think that NY routes its mail through Virginia. It also is not written in someone else's handwriting before it gets mailed from several states away.

The reader is often a prisoner with a prison job. They read it quickly, and go on with their lives. Or they do not read it, and still collect their pay.

It was sent from a prison, so someone read it, or at least pretended to read it. The reason they did not come forward is unknown.

lol. Yeah... And they mail it from states away... Because in a state like NY there are no post offices... and stuff... and they make him write with HUGE pencils so his handwriting changed... and... and... and...

However, mail in NY state is processed in NY.
Why would the prison service process letters in the same state they came from? Doing anything in NYC is just more expensive, so they are not going to do it there. They could send it to one of the prisons in upstate NY, but that is not required. They could just as easily send it to one of the prisons in Virginia. There is no requirement it stay in the same state.

What they do need to do is process it before handing it over to the post office. Once it has a postmark on it, they can no longer read it. So they send it to which facility is going to process it, and then it is postmarked there after processing it.

Nothing says that you hate Trump so much that you will believe anything at all like trying to explain why they crossed several state lines before mailing that letter because it was a "small prison"...

So you want the prison system to send the mail back to New York State to be handed over to the post office? That is nonsensical.

The mail is processed by the prison system at whatever facility they chose, and then handed over to the postal system where ever it was processed. They are not going to ship it all of the way back to New York State just to have the right postmark.

that backwater state of NY.... gotta skip that other backwater state of New Jersey... and Delaware, Maryland... Can't mail it from there... Nor Pennsylvania... Nope. Because it was a "small prison" it gets mailed from more than one state away... Because that backwater state of NY has no post offices...

lol. Geebus. You really have it bad. That takes a whole bag of stupid.

It would have been almost impossible to not cross state lines several times. Almost everything going from NYC to upstate NY crosses state lines two to three times. Even had it been sent to upstate NY processing facilities, it would have crossed state lines several times.

Crossing state lines is not that big of a deal. They sent it to whichever processing facility that had the capacity, without caring which state it was in.

The deciding factor is where the prison system has capacity for reading the letters, not where there is a post office. NYC just does not have the capacity to read the letters, so it is sent somewhere else.

lol. Geebus Christ. This is got to be the funniest crap I read. There is no reason even a prison crosses three states to mail letters... Not even one reason.

You be you though. Hold on to that "hope"... You "got him" this time... yup. There's a letter... mailed from someone that was dead, written in someone else's handwriting, from a state he was not in without information that is required for it to be mailed. You've convinced yourself... You might be able to convince Desh... Keep that hope alive, man. This is the flag you want to salute, so salute away.
