I was watching a TV programme called Nazi Hunters on Yesterday, a British TV channel earlier, and they spoke about a plot by Jews to poison the water supplies of four German cities in an attempt to kill 6 million Germans as revenge for the Holocaust. I must admit that this was news to me, so I was wondering if others on this forum had heard about it? I am also intrigued to know what the poison they were planning to use was, I'm assuming it was some kind of nerve poison or a biological agent.

Pay attention at the back, the events described were immediately after the war in 1945-6. The TV programme was fairly recent and had many of the main protagonists giving first hand accounts. There is even a song about it.

You probably shouldn't call it a "Jewish plot". That implies that "the Jews" were carrying it out. It's like saying that 9/11 was a "Muslim plot". It was a plot by a small number of Muslims, while that implies that it's a plot by all of them.

Yes, a plot by a group of Muslims is not a Muslim plot. If went over to Massachusetts and shot you (then resurrected you to show my divine powers), would it be an atheist plot? It would be an atheist's plot, not an atheist plot. "An atheist plot" implies collective responsibility on the part of all atheists, which is what this kind of terminology is meaning to imply.

It was approved by Chaim Weizmann who was instrumental in introducing the plotters to a scientist who made the actual poison.

David Ben-Gurion, then head of the Jewish Agency and later Israel's first prime minister, was appalled by the idea and was worried that it would prejudice the chance of establishing a state. Zalman Shazar, who later became Israel's third president, was also hostile to the plan. However Israeli President Chaim Weizmann was more receptive. "He approved of our plans," Harmatz said, "and recommended a scientist who would make a poison for us." The scientist worked at the Sieff Institute in Rehovot -- later renamed the Weizmann Institute.
