Televangelist Jim Bakker is once again beating one of his favorite conspiracy theories to death… even though it died a long time ago: If Donald Trump isn’t re-elected in 2020, says Bakker, Christians will be murdered.

He’s technically right. They will perish. Eventually. But the cause is far more likely to be climate change or old age than a genocidal threat from vegans who want to destroy the NRA.

this isn’t even the first time he’s pretended the world is coming after him. He seems to be doing just fine battling the imaginary hitmen.

“I’m going to say something I probably shouldn’t say,” he added. “What’s coming next, if we keep losing, you’re going to see the leaders of the church and the leaders of the gospel and the political conservative leaders that are powerful, you are going to see them suddenly die, suddenly killed — suddenly as they were driving, suddenly as they were in a boat, suddenly in an airplane — you’re going to see it one after another.” :awesome:

Religious followers are nuts. The leaders are worse. It is all about money and power, which is achieved by conning people.

Nothing riles up the Christian right like existential threats, JFK was vehemently opposed cause he was supposedly going to allow the Vatican to run the United States. What is amazing isn't that these people create these fabrications, they've doing it for centuries, but rather the number of people that believe them
