JPMorgan Reaches Tentative $13 Billion Settlement With Justice Department: WSJ

Big Deal 13 billion fine and the probably stole more than double that. Wheres the Prison time for Jamie Dimon and his henchman. This is the third HUGE fine theyve paid on criminal activity and still NO PRISON TIME. The rich get away with murder.

JPMorgan Chase has reached a tentative $13 billion settlement with the Justice Department over a number of investigations related to to the bank's residential mortgage-backed securities business, according to The Wall Street Journal

At $13 billion, the potential settlement with the Justice Department exceeds estimates in September that JPMorgan would end up paying as much as $11 billion over the allegations. If finalized, the settlement would be the largest the U.S. government has ever made with a single company, according to WSJ.

I think the key phrase here is "if finalized" which means this is speculation at this point! Let me see what they actually wind up paying when they get done with all the fine print that lets them skate for much less. I think the main sticking point here is that they have to admit that they did in fact break the law which is a if not an actual first one of the damn few that imposed this draconian condition. Generally the result is no harm no foul, and they wind up appealing and obfuscating and playing a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the original publicized fine. So I'm waiting to see the cancelled check.

Fuckers took my bank from me. Of course, I'm too complacent to move my accounts over to BECU or some other bank...

Banks are organized crime, no better than Vito Genovese, John Gatti or Al Capone, the difference is the govt doesnt go after jamie dimon to put him in prison and thats the only difference

keep in mind they were taken to court not for what they did, but for what three banks did that they bought at the brink of collapse to keep the economy afloat......

funny how some just don't care about rich and powerful people being treated like any other criminal.

some see money as proof of good morals.

I have never understood how people could be that stupid as to see life that way

you don't.....you put the people who made the stupid decisions in jail.......that's why Enron isn't in a cell next to its directors......

My only concern is where is the "fine" money going? As long as it is distributed among those parties who were wronged, then ok. As I see it now, it is just another Lib scheme to "Tax" US more....tax and spend is the Liberal motto. Is your EBT card working ok?

of course it will go to those wronged......any union member who lost his janitorial job at any of those banks will be taken care of......
