This is the way to get it done these days. When the Enviro-nuts turn the debate over to Hollywood you know the science is against them. This judge did the right thing by reversing an earlier decision, effectively telling Hollywood to stuff it. :good4u:

A Brazilian judge has overturned a decision that could have delayed construction of a huge Amazon dam opposed by locals, environmentalists and the director of the film Avatar.

The judge in Brasilia, the country's capital, reversed on Friday a decision to suspend contract bidding scheduled for next week for the 11,000MW Belo Monte dam, according to a statement by Brazil's solicitor-general.

Not at all. Here's why:

1. I didn't move the The South to try and change its culture. I immersed myself in its culture, learned it, learned its rich history and accepted it as my own.
2. I am here permanently. You could not pay me a high enough salary to move back to Boston or New York.

I assure you, this region is far from underprivileged.

Earlier this evening my wife and I drove to another part of the valley to meet the parents of our son's prom date, along with a group of ten kids that are all going together. The girl goes to a different school so its an area that we know but not so well as to ignore the scenery.

On the way over I had a slight deja vu on a section of road, and told my wife that it reminded me of summer on Cape Cod, because of the curve of the road, the pines and the neat homes nestled in the trees. I then jokingly asked her if she wanted to move back to Syracuse, and we laughed as we always do when we remind each other why we moved here.

The 20 minute drive from our home to theirs is lined with neighborhoods full of beautiful homes on lush, tree-lined streets. Most are all-brick, with many colonials, traditionals, and expanded capes. I pointed out a dozen or so that I have worked on by designing additions, diagnosing foundation or drainage problems, or evaluating for real estate transactions.

We met all of the kids and their parents. What an incredibly diverse and quality group. One of the girls we knew from my son's cross country days, and she's currently ranked very high in the State, and has run relays against our daughter's team. Her complete opposite was a tall, sturdy young man who plays the tuba in the all-county band. Four of the girls did not have dates, and I kept asking what was wrong with the boys at his school, as they were all beautiful, especially this tall black gal, an exotic beauty and senior going to Wake Forest in the fall.

They're having a dinner party before the dance catered by two of the grandmothers, co-owners of one of the best restaurants in the area. After the prom they are all headed over to another one of the parents homes to watch movies late into the night in their 12 seat, sloped floor home theater.

Underprivileged? Hardly.
 
Yes, it lacks the education and upbringing that one receives in NE. You are taking advantage of less-educated people by living there.

As per Southern Culture, when confronted with aggressive ignorance towards our region, we do not educate the offender, as we have no desire to have offensive retards living amongst us.

Only because its difficult to educate those who are better educated. Hell, the Pacific NW is like only second to NE, and Seattle is the most educated city in the USA!!

I just came back from LA two weeks ago. They're wimps compared to Boston drivers.
 
That judge should be executed and his remains should be displayed at the capitol as a warning to other judges who wish to usurp the needs and wishes of their people.

The Puget Sound Corridor of WA is home to the worst drivers on Earth. Since the West Coast is not known for aggressive drivers, I imagine Bostonians probably have us beat in that department. At least you can do 90 down most of the CA coast with no problem.
