Mary Jo Kopechne (/koʊˈpɛkni/; July 26, 1940 – July 18, 1969) was an American teacher, secretary, and political campaign specialist who died in a car accident at Chappaquiddick Island on July 18, 1969, while she was a passenger in a car being driven by U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy. If you are wondering how the right mentally deals with Trump, I suggest you put a rubberband around your wrist with Mary Jo's name on it and snap it real hard before proceeding further. Life isn't some high school club where you get to decide who is allowed in or who gets kicked out. You deal with it by accepting the things you cannot control, like how in the hell a drunken killer almost wins your party's nomination and goes onto a long career in politics.

The police and legal departments are the ones that allowed him to fight all the way to the convention or have a career at all in politics thereafter.
