Woman sitting on toilet accidentally shot in leg

Jul 10, 9:00 PM (ET)

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities said a bullet from a gun that was accidentally dropped injured a Tampa woman sitting in a bathroom stall. Police said the bullet hit 53-year-old Janifer Bliss in the lower left leg. She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Bliss was sitting on the toilet in a hotel bathroom when a woman in the next stall accidentally let her handgun slip out of her waist holster. The weapon discharged when it hit the ground.

Police said the gun belonged to a 56-year-old woman who has a concealed weapons permit.

The case has been referred to the State Attorney's Office to determine if any charges will be filed.

Gotta take your guns to the bathroom, as well as when you drive to get your smokes, and stop by McDonald's afterwards. Just make sure to sip down just one beer beforehand, to smooth your driving. You just never know when a true threat is going to come at you.

weird. I see no mention in the article about the political affiliations of either participant.

The lady with the holster was probably Green Peace or Code Pink.

What kind of crappy gun goes off when it falls on the floor? Oh yeah, a revolver. *shrug*

You must be accustomed to antique or low quality revolvers. And if there is a single type of gun that is more likely to go off when dropped (if carried loaded and ready to fire) it would be a semi-auto. There are plenty of types of handguns. All have good uses as well as pros and cons for defensive carry.

WaterMark, would you rather the lady in question stash her gun someplace before going to the bathroom? Do you have any idea why she carries a gun? Or is this just more "all conservatives should be killed" sort of trolling?

You must be accustomed to antique or low quality pistols. You can toss my glock off a building and its not going to go off.

Watermark is a troll and is not worth responding to.
