As LifeNews.com reports, Eric Holder's Justice Department has rebuffed numerous Freedom of Information Act requests to get to the bottom of Kagan's role as solicitor general in the successful Obama political strategy to get health reform enacted. But internal communications that are already public themselves make for a smoking gun.

How about this Jan. 8, 2010, email featuring the subject line "Re: Health Care Defense" from former Deputy Solicitor General/now-acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal to Associate Attorney General Brian Hauck: "Brian, Elena would definitely like OSG (Office of Solicitor General) to be involved in this set of issues ... we will bring in Elena as needed."

In another email that same day, Hauck asked Katyal about putting together a group "to defend against inevitable challenges" to ObamaCare. Ketel replies, "Absolutely right on. Let's crush them. I'll speak with Elena and designate someone."

Let's see the emails.

As Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia have demonstrated, the great thing about being a Supreme Court justice is that you can do whatever the hell you want and no one can tell you otherwise. Even if Elena Kagan were neck deep in legal strategy surrounding the Affordable Care Act, the person that gets to decide if she will be recused from the matter is Elena Kagan.

Interesting. I assume you didn't actually go to the link, as it covered Thomas and Scalia.

It's another Twitter story, BTW. I was testing to see if I could get good threads out of it. By your reaction it appears as if I may be able to use the Twitter feed to get some interesting threads... Maybe I should use Newsboy though rather than Damocles.

If by "interesting" you mean "crazy right-wing nonsense" then yeah. I would advise using Newsboy, though. Maybe you should diversify your twitter feed.

I have a crapton of lefty junk there too. I pretty much "follow" anything at all that has to do with politics. However, I'm trying to balance out the nutjobby lefty threads. If you look at the tweets from the account you will see that rootbeer dominates with nutjobby lefty threads. I'd like to have a balance there, hopefully draw in some conversation from both sides.

And yeah, Newsboy is probably a good idea. It will show it is just posting a story I got from either the Get News page or from Twitter without any personal opinion.

If the threads were more heavily righty I would have searched out some more lefty stories.
