Kamala Harris was perfect tonight.

I've watched political conventions since 1952.

I remember watching those, a first grader,
a 12" round screen, smaller than this laptop screen, in a huge box TV,
enthralled by how important it seemed to the grownups,
and we actually had TWO very qualified, suitable candidates nominated then, Stevenson and Eisenhower.

I never saw perfect at a convention before. Not in seventy-plus years.

Kamala Harris was perfect tonight.

I couldn't find a flaw, a mistake, anything.
Not one thing that made me blink.
Just perfect.

She hit it out of the park. What, you're older than me? My first TV convention memory was JFK, 1960, i was 9.

Perfect? How was it perfect? I listened to her give nearly 30 minutes of anecdotes, platitudes, drivel, and empty rhetoric. In that whole speech there was nothing of substance.

I walked door to dooer in the neighborhood for Stevenson. Campaigns were financed by canisters that had slots on the top. The person could poke change or a buck or 2 in the slot. There were similar canisters on counters in local stores.

The Geriatric Club Membership keeps rising!

I was 13 for the convention in 1960, 14 for the election.

I remember very well because it was the beginning of my one dismal year in private prep school
before informing my parents that I was going back to public school with my friends
before I literally killed one of those uppity, Waspy assholes.

As you can see, I'm much more tolerant and inclusive now.

she was in true character. Shame that doesn't define what her real intentions are forward as an ancestor living eternally separated in plain sight equally occupying time as the other 8.12 billion ancestors are doing themselves, today..

Please, this is starting to sound somewhat psychotic.

Full of shit and shinola.
yes every reality of humanity is. That is why I attack ideology not corrupted ancestors living equally timed apart as myself. Judge not others any differently than judging your own time living in series parallel conditions daily.

There is this one line in a christian prayer "......lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil......."

Ironic thing about vocabulary and how things are spelled, live is reverse alignment to same letters as evil.

Devil in details people lived by letter of the law daily.

I just finished watching it again on YT. What an inspiring, upbeat, energetic, positive speech. Yes, she took Trump to task and did it without personal insults but with the truth. I noticed that when speaking of his administration's many failures and future plans, she never once said "Republicans," but only "Trump." Contrast this with the divisiveness of Trump's constant haranguing about liberals and Democrats as enemies of America. Her speech was one of the best I've ever heard. This message is what people want, what America needs. Did you also notice the faces of the audience? They were a microcosm of the beautiful tapesty of humans that is America -- people of all races, genders represented equally.

If you think that, you must think highly of Hannibal Lecter, Sharks, and crowd sizes.

So, are we electing a motivational speaker or a President?
