Republican Rep. Ken Buck laid into his own party Sunday, blasting those who continue to propagate the lie that the 2020 election was stolen for “lying to America.”

“Everybody who thinks that the election was stolen or talks about the election being stolen is lying to America,” the Colorado Republican said during an interview in CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

Buck didn’t stop there.

“Everyone who makes the argument that January 6 was, you know, an unguided tour of the Capitol is lying to America. Everyone who says that the prisoners who are being prosecuted right now for their involvement in January 6, that they are somehow political prisoners or that they didn't commit crimes, those folks are lying to America.”

It’s not the first time Buck, a member of the Trump-aligned House Freedom Caucus, has decried his party’s unwillingness to accept the results of Biden’s 2020 victory or condemn the violent attack on the Capitol. The Colorado Republican voiced a similar warning earlier this month in announcing that he would not seek reelection in 2024.

It has long been his opinion just as it is the opinion of everyone whose minds Trump hasn't swallowed. This includes the opinions of Republicans who know better but, in Buck's words, are "lying to America" because it suits them to do so. The lying works obviously. They have patsies like you to show for it.

Buck, by the way, is not just any Congressman. He has been one the most respected members of the House within his party.

I don't accept lies......are you pretending no local election officials imposed voting procedures that had NOT been set by state legislators.......there are photographs of it happening in over dozen states.......in some states it was not simply without legislative approval but in direct violation of state law.......only a fool would pretend they can deny that and not make himself look more like a fool....
 
remember when Georgia passed laws to prevent such things from ever happening again and lib'ruls made the All-Star game move to Colorado?.......and you thought GA was turning blue?.......no, its just Fulton County that's blue.....for some reason that one blue county thinks it is their destiny to decide who gets to be president of the whole country.....both in 2020 and now with their indictments in 2024.....

I saw him speak...and he was right on target. He spoke the truth to MAGA morons. I can only hope some of them finally see how correct he is and, further hope that some of them actually break out of the cult and come forward themselves.

Name calling again, the favored tool of the Right.

Anyone familiar with a little of the history of Presidential elections knows 1) elections are conducted by states, 2) each state determines the number of its allocated electoral votes awarded to each candidate 3) a threshold number of the grand total then determines the President if the threshold is reached (which hasn’t always happened). Election disputes within states regarding their elections are common. They are the exclusive province of courts and The Constitution provides a time period between the election and the final date for certification for claims to be heard. Once a state submits its electoral vote total the vote becomes officially Constitutional. In other words, whatever merit you think there is to your claim the law wasn’t followed is rendered moot, that is, Constitutionally moot, by the submitted and accepted EC vote total, the only test set by The Constitution.

One last point on this. If Biden's election was Unconstitutional then Biden is not the President since the presidency is a Constitutional office, and even Trump, your intellectual idol, doesn't argue that.
 
They all know it. Even most on Trump's inner circle at that time have come out & said they knew it was a lie.

I'll keep saying it: the only reason anyone believes 2020 was rigged is because a pathological liar who hates losing more than anything said so. And he said the same in 2016. And he sad 2012 was a "sham."

It's what he does. Anyone who believes this guy? That's on them.
 
Trump admitted in court that Russia helped him get elected. Rightys on this board have claimed it was a left-wing lie. The Reds have nothing to talk about anymore. Everything they say is derived from Trumpian and far-right lies. They have zero credibility.

Might also be said only an idiot would think The Constitution requires a standard it doesn’t mention. The Constitution says only that states choose “electors” who meet and vote within a specified time. Electors are free to vote as they please. Restrictions on that freedom, if any, are made by the states, not The Constitution.

Ignorance and stupidity are the twin saving graces of you people. You add some arrogance to it, being your own kind of shithead.

Equally dumb. The election makes a candidate President, not the inauguration. You may think that if for a lark a White House janitor took the oath of office he would find his place in the White House changed to the West Wing, not back with the mops and brooms. This is poor thinking, law expert for our Trumper section.
