I've heard a rumor, that based on the underwhelming performance of The Little Mermaid at the box office, Disney is feeling some desperation to turn their ill conceived social experiment disguised as family entertainment, into something cool and popular with their target audience.
Talk on 'da skreet is that they're considering tweaking the musical score, particularly with regard to some of Ariel's singing parts.
One scene in particular would replace the traditional song with something more current and relevant to today's urban youth.
My understanding is that they're thinking of possibly using a selection from Cardi B.
WAP maybe.
I dunno....
Could work given the current state of our "culture".
At least the lyrics are somewhat appropriate to the setting.
