The images would not be something that would be missed by a father or even a friend. The images made it impossible for him to remain unidentified. If you were in a group of people that regularly interacted with him you would definitely have known who it was in those videos and images.
I think the shirt is something so he would be able to merge with the crowd. If he was wearing BLM regalia and had rainbow hair he may have been identified a bit more quickly....
