The Washington Post is reporting that, in between doing sets of 47 push-ups, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asked senior leadership at the Pentagon to develop a plan to cut 8% from the defense budget each of the next five years. That's an 8% compounding. We're talking about close to $300 billion in savings over five years.
