Letitia James was just called out at a Town Hall over allegations of mortgage fraud and her witch hunt against President Trump

If she's guilty, it will also prove that she lives elsewhere and is therefore ineligible to run for the office she holds, they'll have to replace her.

It will be interesting. If it is a "nothing burger" then so too is Trump's conviction. If "nobody is above the law" then they also don't get to violate the exact same laws as they used to prosecute others without any consequences...
It gets worse if that happens. Trump on appeal now has another reason to have all the cases in NY against him tossed with prejudice...

Equal treatment under the law.

There was evidence of Trump’s crimes. A jury found him guilty. James will have the same process. If she’s found guilty, she’s guilty.

Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies. That is not a witch hunt.
A grand jury found he should go to trial. He had a staff of high priced lawyers on his side, and lost a unanimous jury decision. He had every advantage that wealthy people have in our justice system. He managed to get the sentencing delayed past the election. That is a legal benefit of wealth. He should be in jail now.

Indeed. My point was flipping the coin over and folks taking the opposite side of what happened before is simple political expediency and hypocrisy.

If you believed that stretching past the point of limitations through the suggestion that he did it to "cover" some other crime for which he was never charged, no evidence was given for, and that if you just "felt" he was possibly guilty of any of three crimes then you should vote guilty was the right way to go... then this particular one is far more direct, is still in the statute of limitations, and you don't need to stretch out the limitations with crimes she has never been charged with....

If you thought what they did to Trump was just "justice" then what's happening to Leticia is something you should be supporting... and you should be ready to cancel her a$$ for the incredible hypocrisy of trying someone for the very crime you just recently committed yourself.

Now, if you thought that the trial of Trump on this stuff was BS, and that there was "no victim", then you should be incredibly skeptical of someone else being tried for that same crime.

I think you have to know that Trump was guilty of crimes, not just the 34 felonies. If he went to court for the election interference cases, the theft of a truckload of classified documents and lying to the feds to keep them he could not win. Trump organized the 1-6 insurrection. He is getting away with that too. You Trumpys can delude yourselves so easily.

I think that if he were guilty of those they would have prioritized their prosecution as any one of them would likely have removed him from the capability of running. That they did not and chose to use the "34 felonies" path that actually had a jury basing a verdict on whether they "felt he may be guilty" of any one of three crimes for which he had not been charged, no evidence had been presented, and for which he was never indicted tells me that they were not sure they could convict him of what you think are "obvious crimes".

There is no way his 34 felonies will stand on appeal. Way too many issues with the trial.

This will be interesting to see, though a quick redress is very unlikely due to the null value sentencing. Even reputational damage is lessened by the fact that he won the election (though if it is overturned for error in ruling it will be as if it never happened and the "felonious Trump" mantra will end).
