Leave it to two phony, plastic Faux bimbos to try and claim treating some kids like shit is good for them.

Fox guest on classroom fairness: Exclude kids who don’t deserve a ‘pity Valentine’

A Fox News guest on Thursday asserted that some children should be excluded when Valentine’s Day cards are given out at school so that they can learn that the world isn’t fair while the “stakes are low.”

For years, many teachers have asked grade-school students to bring Valentine’s Day cards for everyone in the class if they bring them to school. But when one New Jersey teacher sent a note home this year explaining the policy, Fox News hosted a segment suggesting that political correctness was running amuck.

“Valentine’s Day is about expressing your unique heartfelt feelings for your special loved one,” blogger Elizabeth Esther told Fox News host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. “To just robotically hand out, ‘Here’s your Valentine, here’s your Valentine.’ Like, what are we? It totally removes the meaning, the special memory for the kids.”

“You can’t make life 100 percent fair,” she added. “And why not let them experience a little of that, like, ‘Wow, okay,’ while they’re young and the stakes are low rather when they’re 20 years old and they’re still expecting everyone to give them a Valentines.”

Esther asserted that the children who would not have gotten a Valentine were only getting a “pity Valentine” if teachers required fairness in the classroom.

“That doesn’t feel any better,” she declared.

Parenting expert Jessica Gottlieb, however, explained that it did feel better for kids to get a Valentine’s Day card instead of being isolated from the rest of the class.

“Believe me, they experience plenty of rejection day in and day out,” Gottlieb said. “There’s absolutely no reason to be excluding them.”

I really can't believe this didn't come from the onion.

I don't recall if we had this policy, but I do recall my mom made me bring them for the whole class anyway. Why would anyone want to encourage cruelty to children? School is hard enough. That teacher is right, kids experience enough rejection and cruelty in school they don't need anymore. Seriously, conservatism these days has quite simply fetishized cruelty.

I loved the whole thing about giving everyone a valentine.

And I didn't expect everyone to give me a valentine when I was 20.

Funny how that works.

Isn't it AMAZING how you got Valentines from everyone in class when you were a child, but eventually GREW UP and realized it wasn't a big deal if you weren't getting one from every single person you knew?

Apparently some Conservatives were so scarred by the fact they weren't getting valentines from EVERYONE when they were 20 that they decided being a dick to some little kids was the way to go.

Right? I can't help but think that's what she's saying. Is that really devastating for a 20 year old? I mean, I went to a big college - I think there were 4,000 kids in my "class". That would have been a heck of a lot of valentines....

When my little girl was in kindergarten a couple years ago she would finish her day by giving every other kid in class a hug before leaving. Some kids she didn't even talk to during the day, but at the end of the day it seemed every kid had to hug every other kid.

It was BEAUTIFUL!

At that age they don't care about what the definition of real "love" is...they love EVERYONE.

You think it's a good idea to start singling out certain kids and highlighting for the rest of the class how they are somehow "unworthy" of a Valentine, you need help.

Give it a rest, Michelle.

Let's not forget this tasty morsel:

And WHATEVER you do, don't try and change the thread topic by posting some BS that has NOTHING to do with the thread subject.
Don't lecture me on thread hijacking, you pervert. This sort of shit happens all day everyday, everywhere you go. Get over yourself.

If everyone doesn't get valentines from everyone else, then no one gets valentines from anyone else.

Ha! Whether you're aware of it or not, you've brilliantly channeled "The Gondoliers" by Gilbert and Sullivan. In it they lampoon the notion of a classless society:

"If everyone is somebody,
Then no one's anybody."

When first reading this thread I wondered at how it could be perceived as "conservative vs. liberal." Initially it appeared to be two educators with differing ideas.

But of course, education is not about education. It's about indoctrination. On Valentine's Day the classroom becomes another petri dish for liberals, where nobody is loved any more than anybody else. Is that how the real world works? No, but look children! Authority can MAKE it happen! Wheeee, surrender to authority for universal happiness.

"We can overcome human nature. Just as we can now stop the most popular boy and girl from getting the most Valentines, we can also stop the smartest and most ambitious from earning the most money."

Maybe none of these libtards got to college expecting a Valentine from everybody else, but they certainly arrived expecting as much out of life as everyone else, in spite of skills, smarts, and effort invested.

:rofl2:

I am surprised the liberals are not against passing out Valentines's Day cards, think of all the tree's that were cut down to make them, carbon footprint and the rest of the shit they sputter about.

???....conduct like that would get her suspended for sexual harassment nowdays........

I don't know of any school that punishes kids for hugging each other.

Hugging a kid who does NOT want the hug should be dealt with don't you think?

see you guys just cant stick to the facts.

You prefer to twist the reality so you can act like fools and feel good about yourselves
