Liberals believe Social Security retirees are deadbeat parasites!

As evidenced by their misconstruing of a speech delivered by Mitt Romney in May of this year. They've trotted out this old fundraiser speech and reinterpreted it for us, to reveal what they really think about the elderly. They claim to believe Social Security recipients are the dependent class Romney was referring to in his speech. They believe that elderly retirees are people who believe the government owes them an entitlement. They also believe that all retired Social Security recipients plan to vote for Obama, and believe in government-run health care, along with all the other government-funded programs endorsed by liberals. They believe that Social Security retirees are the same as welfare recipients and deadbeats who think the government owes them an entitlement, because they include them in the group that Romney was referring to.

Now it's important to note, I derived this from their own words, but not actually what they have come out and said... rather, my interpretations of what they are saying in "code" and trying to promote to the public. They believe old people are a drain on society, parasites who don't deserve their retirement pensions. This is astonishing that they would come out this close to the election and admit this is fundamentally what they believe. But there you have it, in their own words.

Seems like a really stupid political move to call senior citizens who are drawing Social Security, deadbeats and parasites. You'd think the liberals would want to be more respectful of old people than this. But nope... that's exactly what they now want to claim!

The fact is the seniors are in the 47% Romney talked about. You can't change that Dicksee.

Mary Rathbun gets an $809 check every month from Social Security and an additional $100 in food stamps. The 74-year-old former nurse pays $550 in rent for her apartment in St. Helens, Ore. That leaves less than $400 for food, utilities and other expenses, including medical bills.

When Social Security was launched 70 years ago Sunday, it was meant to be a supplement for retirees, not a full pension. But today, 10.6 million people, or 22% of the 48 million who will receive Social Security benefits this year, live on that check alone, the Social Security Administration says.

Living on only Social Security isn't a happy prospect. It means stretching every dollar, depending on a patchwork of family, charity and state programs to pay for what Social Security doesn't cover — and sometimes doing without. Those living on nothing but Social Security are often single women and minorities. AARP, the senior advocacy group, says 25% of retired women, including 46% of unmarried Hispanic women, have no income beyond Social Security. AARP also says 33% of retired African-Americans live on Social Security alone.

Those numbers could grow as the baby boom generation enters retirement. Currently, 53% of people in the workforce have no pension, and 32% have no savings set aside for retirement. The number of traditional pension plans — the kind that guarantee a set amount of money for life and that have propped up many of the pre-boomer generation — has fallen to 29,651 in 2004 from 112,208 in 1985.

Note those numbers were before the Great Bush Depression, which made matters even worse.

So whatever you think doesn't lessen the hard truth of Romney's hatred towards the peons.

Speaking solely for myself, I don't think the elderly are voting for Obama. Like the scammers taking the money out of their banks to save their "grandson" in one of the oldest grifter schemes there is, they fall easily for the lies of Romney/Ryan.

Social security and medicare are by far the largest government entitlements. The only thing that really comes even close would be medicaid, which is nearly half the size, and isn't even really a general program for the poor (in most states, you have to be part of a special group to qualify no matter how poor you are).

Conservative idiots: The 47% of people who don't pay taxes are deadbeat parasites!

Sane Americans: Most people who don't pay taxes are elderly people on social security and medicaire.

Conservative idiots: OMG, libruls are saying that senior citizens are deadbeat parasites!

No, they are certainly NOT in the 47% who pay no taxes and vote for Obama because they believe they are entitled. Many of them are conservatives who do not support Obama, and many of them do not believe in government entitlement. Sorry!

Social security and medicare are by far the largest government entitlements.

Not true. Social Security is not an entitlement, it is a benefit that people receive after having paid into the system.

Most people who don't pay taxes are elderly people on social security and medicaire.

Not so. Social Security is taxable income.

Liberal LIE: Conservative idiots: The 47% of people who don't pay taxes are deadbeat parasites!

Hasn't been said by any Republican or Conservative. Has ONLY been indicated by Liberals, who want to LIE and CLAIM this was said.

You really think that repeating lies about others wins you something in a debate.....?
You're sick minded cohorts might have fun reading it over and over, but in the end, you know as well as everyone else, its still bullshit....

Rana....you're typical liberal pinhead just accused ME of being one of those deadbeat parasites because I collect a Soc. Sec. check....one that I've been earning for over 40 years....

So you see, the truth is...its the pinheads that say seniors are deadbeat parasites, not the Conservatives.

Really? Not according to this guy:

One or both of you is a total friggin' idiot.

Hmm... Well what about THIS guy:

Social security benefits are income, Dix.

Or THIS gal:

It sure is. My parents have to pay.

Or this one...

Social Security is absolutely taxable income.

Or this one...
They are absolutely taxable... at a minimum 50% is included for taxation.

OR EVEN THIS ONE:

Wrong.

I could explain why, but I'll let the IRS give you the bullet points.

Proving that Social Security recipients are certainly NOT the people Romney was talking about, who do not pay taxes.

Not true. Social Security is not an entitlement, it is a benefit that people receive after having paid into the system.

You are apparently providing your own esoteric definition of what the word "entitlement" means.

Not so. Social Security is taxable income.

"Most of those who don't pay taxes are receiving social security and medicare." !-> "Social security is not taxable income."

Social security often doesn't provide seniors with a great deal of income, and it's the only source of income for most of them.

Nothing esoteric whatsoever. There is a fundamental difference between something you never paid for but feel entitled to, and something you rightly deserve because you paid for it. Social Security retirees paid into a Social Security trust fund all their lives, they deserve the benefit, it's not the same as someone who hasn't paid and feels they are owed or 'entitled'. It's important to note that Liberals now want to classify those who have legitimately paid their money into the system, are in the same category as welfare recipients who haven't.

Well, as was pointed out, Social Security income is taxable. Therefore, those who draw Social Security and pay taxes, aren't the people Romney was talking about when he said "they pay no income tax." It's a complete contradiction of logic, because they can't both be taxpayers and yet, pay no tax. Proof that Romney wasn't talking about elderly people on Social Security.

Now you can keep on being deliberately dishonest about this, and I guess people will have to make up their own minds in the end, but I think you are taking a mighty big risk for someone who claims to have a 'slam dunk' and 'in the bag' reelection campaign. This is the kind of blatant lie and distortion that could sway several percent of the vote away from your lying asses, and into the arms of your opponent. Perhaps you feel you have enough 'cushion' to be able to pull this off? I'm not sure, but I just think it's a very risky move for people who are so confident they have this election won.

SS is an entitlement program and the benefits are transfer payments. The money retiree's paid is GONE. It was spent at their request (people that were not born had no vote) on foreign wars and other boondoggles.

The money paid to current retirees comes out of those currently paying into the system. It has already started coming out the general fund. The accounting tricks employed though make it appear that the fund is just starting to use interest income to cover expenditures. To see behind the curtain one must only ask "from what source does the interest income come?"

SS is taxable income. Those who are dependent on it will not pay taxes on the income. Those who are dependent on it will very likely receive more than they paid in. Those who don't need it are STILL a drain on the working class.

SS should be ended and all those who need it should be shifted to welfare programs. What stops this? RICH people on the dole and stealing from poorer/younger workers.

Yes, please GOP go for your paradigm shift of appealing to rich dinosaurs only. You need to change your mascot because you always forget.

It almost sounds like a ponzi scheme
