Liz Cheney says the GOP risks becoming known as 'the party of white supremacy'

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney said her party needed to act to prevent the GOP from becoming known as "the party of white supremacy," by standing against the extreme views promoted by Trump supporters during the Capitol riot on January 6.

Cheney pointed to the fact that members of the pro-Trump mob which stormed the Capitol building in Washington, DC, January had displayed symbols of anti-Semitism, Holocaust denial, and Confederate flags.

She said that Republicans now had a "duty and obligation to stand against that, to stand against insurrection."

When everyone is a white supremacists no one is a white supremacist. You people just toss around a lable everytime some disagrees with you. This is an amazing response on a couple of levels. In this era of White Fragility to try and proclaim "I'm a (white) Democrat therefore I'm not racist" is mind blowing. It's like how tone deaf do you have to be to claim that?

And as bad as people like TDAK, CFM and Volstruck are there are some black folks that will say people like you might even be worse. At least the aforementioned are open about their racist beliefs, as ugly as they are. But because you don't use the n-word doesn't mean you don't have racist beliefs or racist biases but you think nothing is wrong.

And if you want to bring up this board I've seen BAC call people on the left here racist. So that alone makes your statement false. Not to mention a couple of posters who have socialist economic beliefs but are into the racial separatism and other things.

It really is interesting that some have the mindset that just because more blacks and Jewish people vote Democratic somehow means Democrats can't be/aren't racist or anti-Semitic.
