TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The owner of a Tucson gun store where former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' husband purchased a semi-automatic rifle has canceled the transaction.
Doug MacKinlay said Monday that a full refund was sent to Mark Kelly via express mail because the former astronaut didn't plan to keep the AR-15-style rifle for his personal use.
Kelly bought the gun March 5 at Diamondback Police Supply, saying he wanted to show how easy it is to buy an assault weapon. He planned to turn it in to Tucson police.
MacKinlay tells The Arizona Daily Star (http://bit.ly/X6mRe1 ) that he terminated the transaction Thursday before Kelly could take possession of the firearm.
Giffords was among 13 people wounded in a January 2011 shooting outside a Tucson supermarket that left six others dead.

i think that he follows the federal and state laws

after all, kelly said that he was going to give the rifle to someone else and that was against the law, it is referred to as a straw purchase

Kelly is a gun nut. He's been dragging his damaged and injured wife around the nation, displaying her to promote something she never supported then goes out himself to buy a weapon... which he suddenly admits to just before he's "outed" then tries to say it was so he could "understand" background checks? What about when he purchased the AR-15 and handguns she was pictured shooting before? Same background check... He already had a firm grip on that. What a frickin' hypocrite. So the second time he goes out to "test" those waters... I wouldn't sell him one either.
