Long medical wait times Canada

Yeah. I called for a 'Yearly Physical' back in November. They gave me a date in March. Talk about fucked up. :(

In the VA, depending on the situation, normally we get either one or two check ups a year.

It's not hard to schedule ahead, and I suggest Canadians do that as well.

The VA. Government owned Hospitals, Government paid Doctors, Free. That's 'Socialism', ... you don't want that.

I have Canadians in my family. I always ask them if they are ready for trading their system for ours, Not once has anyone ever said it sounded like good idea. I get laughed at for even suggesting it.

In our area it depends on which medical center you are going to. The one to the northwest has a much longer wait time than the one to the southeast, relatively speaking of course. The CBOC is a lot faster.

You cant believe what our liberal press puts out about how wonderful universal healthcare is, its just not and thats a fact.

We have had Universal Health care system in the VA for decades and its been a big absolute mess, its so extraordinarily expensive they have to keep cutting quality of care back.

I live in Fla in my area we get many canadian snowbirds, there are advertisements here from drs, clinics and hospitals that Canadians are welcome. The canadians tell us that most canadians have no idea what healthcare is except for their socialized universal healthcare and they dont know how bad it is because they have nothing to compare it to. Those canadians that do know now know it SUCKS. Long waits for any procedures, especially elective that improve quality of life.

Canada isnt the only country with long waits, other socialized countries the same.

Lets not forget that we are not sweden, or canada, or norway or any other country with socialized medicine, we are a huge country compared to them with a far greater population, with a private insurer health care system that has been in place forever.

What do we do with all the private owned facilities, what do you do with all those employees, what about private owned Xray, MRI, etc and all other testing facilities like Quest and Labcorp for blood, we just put them out of business, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and all the rest, tell them shutter up byebye ?

Are all the Drs going to accept having a system where they can make as much money as they can for a govt salary ?

The liberal press doesnt address any of that, neither does the Kamala and Ocasio whackjobs, they just run their mouths

Yoda, explain why Sweden, Canada, and all of the other socialized health care countries of the West's patients live longer, more healthily, and at less cost than the US.

We all know these facts.

Explain it.

When I call for a doctors appointment, I get a date about 3 weeks in the future. When I had to see a dermatologist, my appointment was a couple months in the future. The idea that we do not wait is BS. I have a Canadian freind who got a heart transplant. His cost..zero.
Go to emergency and enjoy the wait. What is important is access to healthcare for all. They have it and we do not. They also do not face financial hardship and bankruptcy for getting ill or in an accident. We have to pay a ton for people who have no insurance. Everyone in Canada gets healthcare. It is not a pronblem that other Canadians have to deal with. It takes pressure off your life not to worry about healthcare.

You can start a business and not be terrified of being exposed with no coverage. You can quit a job and not worry about lapsed coverage that you have to qualify for in your next job.
Our system is just plain wrong.
