Long-term unemployment is climbing
As the labor market continues to show signs of weakening, the number of Americans experiencing long-term unemployment has climbed to a post-pandemic high, The Washington Post reports. As of August, over 1.9 million people have been unemployed for six months or more, up from about 1 million in early 2023.
