Looks like Lindsey may be looking for an escape route off the sinking Trump ship.

In Yo Face!
During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing this Tuesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) acknowledged that George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police officers was a “wake up call” for the country, adding that he wants to get to the “root cause” of police violence against African American men.

Graham said that he’s sure “antifa” has a role to play in the rioting and looting, “but I’m old enough to remember 1968, like many of you.”

“The overwhelming issue for us is after you stop the rioting, which we will, what are you going to do about the problem that led to the protest?” Graham said.

“I think this committee has a unique opportunity to build on some things that the Obama administration did, and ask ourselves some hard questions.”

Ouch. That Obama reference is going to leave a mark.

[h=1]Lest We Forget: This Civil Unrest Started with The Murder of a Black Man, NOT a Riot or Looting[/h]A lot of people appear to have forgotten that, I think. They're talking about looting and rioting, but not about George Floyd, who was murdered by a white cop in Minneapolis.

Perhaps they don't want to think about the systemic racism that led to that. Perhaps they don't want to think about their own discomfort around people of color. Perhaps they don't want to ask themselves why they don't travel through some neighborhoods in their own city.

I don't know why people are forgetting that, but all of this activity in all of those cities began when a white cop put his knee on the neck of a black man and ended his life. That is why people are in the streets. That is why cities have curfews at night right now. That is why the cameras are showing images of people blocking freeways and assembling in the streets.

What is going on has an initial cause. We need to remember that and not let later actions take our minds off that. A white cop killed a black man over a fake $20 bill. Now, I don't know about you, but I probably wouldn't recognize a counterfeit $20 bill if I held one in my hand. If I gave one to a clerk, who told me it was bogus, I'd say, "Really? Here's another one." If the police were called, I'd tell them how that fake $20 came to be in my wallet. They wouldn't arrest me. They wouldn't cuff me. They wouldn't kill me. I am a white man. It is my privilege to be believed by cops. It is my privilege not to be murdered by them.

We need to remember the cause of all of this. We need to think about it and react to that cause. The rest is irrelevant, FIX ONE and the OTHER GOES AWAY.

This is a lame attempt by Lindsey to save his ass.

This is a lame attempt by Lindsey to save his ass.

He's been a spectacle ever since Trump got elected. His criticism of Trump during the primaries is now well known, of course, as is his near-religious conversion to being a complete sycophant for Trump.

Gotta give him credit for these statements, though. He's asking the right questions. He's not just giving the usual "thoughts and prayers" stuff...

Too late. Lindsey is complicit in the deaths of thousands of Americans, along with the rest of the Republicans in the Senate. No matter what you say, Lindsey, you will not be forgiven. You can't wash the blood of your hands by invoking Obama.

Graham is up against a formidable challenger for the first time in his career and he’s losing some valuable Republican donors over his blind support of Trump.

Wow.

Well, there is that side of Graham that deadfastly opposed DT during the campaign. He only 'came around' to protect his job. He would do well in Hollywood.

If a Neighbor started throwing rocks at a Man’s Windows because that Man earlier Screwed his Neighbors Wife and Shot his Dog ... why would we be talking about Broken Windows ... FIRST?
