Lyft is introducing a new feature that let’s women and non-binary riders choose a preference to match with drivers of the same gender.

The ride-hailing company said it was a “highly requested feature” in a blog post Tuesday, saying the new feature allows women and non-binary people to “feel that much more confident” in using Lyft and also hopefully encourage more women to sign up to be drivers to access its “flexible earning opportunities.”

The service, called “Women+ Connect,” is rolling out in the coming months. Riders can turn on the option in the Lyft app, however the company warns that it’s not a guarantee that they’ll be matched with a women or non-binary person if one of those people aren’t nearby. Both the riders and drivers will need to opt-in to the feature for it work and riders must chose a gender for it to work.

Although women encompass “nearly half” of its riders, Lyft said that just 23% of its drivers are women, the company said. The feature was also built with assistance from outside organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign and National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives.

It's different in that it isn't racist like you and that idiot sentiment. You can choose to go to a female doctor, many women do. It isn't racist then, it wouldn't be racist to want a woman to be your doctor.

Now if you insisted you only wanted a white person to be your doctor, because they were white and therefore "superior", it is likely even the white guy you wound up with would not want to do his best because touching the outside and inside of a racist would make them want to scrub their soul with bleach.
 
I stay away from doctors, but if i was at a hospital i would not want some crackhead, affirmative-action-baby, illiterate doctor operating on me.

Any patient can choose whomever he/she wants to operate on him or her.

Are you assuming, TDAK, that you couldn't insist on a white surgeon if you needed an operation?

Only somebody as stupid as you would just blurt it out in those words,
but there are actually discrete means for choosing a white surgeon.

My recommendation would be to choose the BEST surgeon you could get,
even is the motherfucker is as purple as a fucking eggplant,

because the goal is usually to come out of the surgery
as functional and unfucked up as possible.

Nevertheless, if you're more comfortable with any white surgeon,
including an alcoholic cracker from West Bumfuck Medical Academy of Mississippi,
nobody will stop you.
