Teachers unions negotiated a fat paycheck at retirement over a fat paycheck at the start. New teachers are often not paid well, but if you stick with it and continue education by the time you retire you will do well.

I wouldn't go quite that far...lol... We never got a fat pay check... And never got good raises.... But it is for life and I am perfectly happy... I did not go in to teaching Is expecting to get rich... I grew up with two teachers... I am happy to see that things are getting a bit better pay wise... I made a little over $10,000.My first year so it's got to be a bit better than that Maybe cut those union presidents, executives etc. Salaries a little bit ...
