The medical examiner's office says a gunman who opened fire at a University of Pittsburgh psychiatric clinic wasn't carrying identification and his fingerprints have yielded no clues to his identity. The gunman's fingerprints were run through a nationwide database used by police and federal agencies, but to no avail. Authorities say the man had two pistols when he shot seven people — one of whom died and whose name has yet to be released. http://www.seattlepi.com/news/artic...rints-yield-nothing-3392164.php#ixzz1oosa8nfU

I am sure he exercised several of his constitutional rights, but it really has no bearing on his actions as a murderer.

Man who exercised his First Amendment rights is threatened in Florida

Authorities acknowledge that a "high-profile" attorney has sent a letter to the Palm Beach County Attorney's Office
requesting that prosecutors consider criminal charges against Rush Limbaugh

Whats the world coming to ?

The criminal charges would stem from a Florida statute.

Civil proceedings would be another matter.

Limbaugh's libelous lies are not covered by the First Amendment, are they?

Poor Blabo.

Except that the Second Amendment guaranteed his right to keep and bear the guns he used...

And the 4th Amendment allowed him to keep the gun hidden and to stay out of jail until after he committed a crime.

The 2nd Amendment allows millions of Americans the right to bear arms. But we have no idea whether or not he obtained the gun legally, whether he had ever committed a crime (it looks doubtful since his prints are not in the sytem), or whether he was insane (in a clinical sense).

The freedoms he enjoyed are the same ones we all enjoy. The only way to prevent scenes like the one in the article would be to remove the freedoms. To claim the 2nd Amendment is at the root of the problem is simply wrong.

It's a good thing I didn't do that, then, isn't it?

Free speech is guaranteed under the First Amendment.....that includes opinions, whether they are considered correct or incorrect is irrelevant....

the question of "libel" is a matter for the court.....Rush's right to say what he wants is guaranteed under the First Amendment

The courts may disagree. Libel and slander are not protected speech in many cases, as you'd know if you Googled 'libel' or 'slander'.

Poor Blabo.

every single post, says just that. If you get to make implications based on the context of peoples posts, we can do the same to you. so yes, you say it with every post that the second amendment is the root of the problem.

No, I don't. I don't even say there's a problem, do I? In fact, two of those threads specifically state their purpose repeatedly, and it's the opposite of what you infer.
