Many people still only see Marilyn the cultural icon or the abused Norma Jean who needs saving. The writings she left behind only offer fragments of what was going on in her head and in her marriages, yet some people speak as if they were living in the house with these people. One thing she did write was that she and Arthur Miller were in love and he was one of the few people who saw her for who she really was. Before their marriage, she said she felt so alone because most people she met weren't capable of this.
