Cities and towns would save tens of millions of dollars in health care costs for employees, retirees, and elected officials by joining the state’s much larger, more flexible health care system, according to a new report by the Boston Foundation.

That's not a real public option. They'd just be pooling resources to get healthcare more efficiently.

Honestly, I don't know why you have such an anathema to public healthcare. The private insurers are middlemen. They are useless, waste in the system. You may as well throw the money in a goddamn furnace.

But since they only make about 6% profits (an amount of money that is equivalent to about a dozen times all that is spent on medical malpractice suites), it's OK to waste it, right? 6%. Absolute waste. A percentage equal to what the federal government wasted last year. And you right wingers absolutely demand we throw this money into the furnace. It's like Alice In Wonderland.
