As we all know, in the famous 1/3rd thread, dixie claimed that eventually infinite decimals will break down and would have to be taken into account. In one of his many threads, dixie statated the following:
"you can't define equal thirds other than assuming them to be equal at some point along infinity. In other words, at some point before you reach infinity, that extra remainder is factored into one of the thirds and is inconsequential to your calculation."
However, with a simple mathematics, we can see that infinity can be taken into account!
Ladies and gentlemen, 0.999 = 1!
a = 0.999…
10a = 9.999…
10a - a = 9.999… - 0.999…
9a = 9
a = 1!!!!
