tweet from Florida Representative Matt Gaetz calling a racist conspiracy pushed by Tucker Carlson "correct" has reemerged in the wake of the mass shooting in Buffalo, New York.

The September tweet from Gaetz, in which the congressman praises Carlson for explaining "what is happening to America," has been reshared online after the "Great Replacement Theory" was cited as an apparent motive for an 18-year-old gunman to kill 10 people and wound three others at the Tops supermarket on Saturday.

Gaetz, along with a number of other GOP lawmakers and Carlson, has been widely criticized for helping push the far-right claim that white Americans are purposely being replaced as the dominant race in the country by minorities and immigrants for political gain.

"Tucker Carlson is CORRECT about Replacement Theory as he explains what is happening to America," Gaetz tweeted while sharing a Guardian article about the Anti-Defamation League calling for the Fox News host to be fired for discussing the claim on his prime time show.

The 'Great Replacement' conspiracy theory isn't fringe anymore, it's mainstream

The speed with which this false narrative has tipped into American discourse since a French ethnonationalist first coined the term roughly a decade ago has stunned even extremism experts who have tracked the spread of hate-filled ideologies. They cite the failure of major social media platforms to effectively moderate such content, the role of Fox News hosts in amplifying these ideas, and the uptake of the conspiracy's language by some elected Republican officials.

Demographic change

Between 2010 and 2020, the percentage of Americans who identified as "White Only" declined by more than 10 percent, from 72 to 62 percent. During that same decade, several Western European countries saw record influxes of migrants from Muslim nations. It is against the backdrop of this demographic change that replacement rhetoric has accelerated in recent years.

"In the U.S., [it's] often called 'white genocide.' In Europe, [it's] called 'Eurabia,' " said Cynthia Miller-Idriss, professor and director of the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab at American University.

The baseless theories claim that these population shifts are orchestrated by elite power holders. In the U.S., Miller-Idriss said white nationalists ascribe the plot to Jews who they believe are bringing in immigrants and promoting interracial marriage to suppress whites. In Europe, the false narrative blames elite politicians for a growing Muslim population. Miller-Idriss said the coining of the term "Great Replacement" in France marked a key moment in the growth of these beliefs.

Floridians seem to be cheering murdering people they don't like and having an authoritarian state. As both Trump and Gaetz exemplify, they don't mind pedos either.

The best remedy is snipers on the roof tops with hollow points to minimize ricochets. It'd be best to make sure they don't hit houses across the street.

If body armor is suspected, shooting them in the pelvic region will knock them down then a shot through the shoulders or up the groin area will cause the bullet to pass under the armor and rattle around inside. :thup:

Let's be fair: They ARE sincere about their love for Trump and the means he uses to make America Great Again.

Of course, the people who loved Hitler and his plans to make Germany Great Again...were sincere about that also.
