Multiple medical workers, including seven Cuban doctors, filed a lawsuit against Venezuela, Cuba, and Venezuela's state-run oil company for forcing them to work against their will. The lawsuit seeks a minimum of $60 million from the defendants.
The medical workers claimed they were forced into servitude and paid low wages to help repay Cuba's oil debts to Venezuela. All of the medical workers now reside in the United States.
Venezuelan and Cuban officials in the U.S. didn't immediately respond to e-mails and phone calls seeking comment from the Associated Press
