Just look at the following legitimate evidence and tell me they are not.

I heard one person opine in a podcast
that mermaids were the evolutionary link between fish and humans.

This, to me, is a perfect example of the value of information garnered on social media and other internet sources.

Its true. The only problem with them is they have a hard time understanding a lot of the slang we humans use and its been known to get them and we Humans in big trouble at times when communicating with each other. Our misunderstanding caused me to go down 4 whole HAT SIZES in the blink of an eye. I was on my jet ski when our chance meeting occurred. Gotta tell ya........SHE WAS STUNNING. She really was. She told me she would grant me any wish I wanted since I was the one who found her. I was feeling kinda horny that day , and not one to be the shy type , I asked her for a piece of that FINE ass! Sadly,....she told me that was the only wish she couldnt grant me for the fact that she was a fish from the waist down. I said......." O.K, well,......How about a little HEAD then? " BAM! just like that I was changed forever. :(

Does that mean we evolved from mermaids?

They probably evolved alongside us on their own path just like many of the other species of humans did.

What helped them to survive is that they never left the ocean meaning the dominant human species, that we became today, never wiped them out.

There have many branches of the human species and since we originated from the Sea it's really not that hard to imagine a branch that never left the water.

Troll. I will give you credit though for going mermaid instead of flat earth. Or alien.

I did not evolve from apes

I did not evolve from apes

No, apes were a branching path but both had a common ancestor.

This is why we still have apes and humans today.

However we both come from whatever that creature was that crawled out of the ocean and decided to live on land.

And that creature also branched off before it left the ocean leading to the ultimate creation of the mermaids who probably have their own unique history of evolution.
