Michae Cohen admitted under oath that Trump committed insurance & tax fraud

House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Wednesday got longtime “fixer” Michael Cohen to admit that Donald Trump committed federal and state crimes.

Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC, was able to get Cohen to testify about federal insurance fraud and local tax fraud.

“I want to ask a little bit about your conversation with my colleague from Missouri about asset inflation. To your knowledge, did the president ever provide inflated assets to insurance companies?”

“Yes,” Cohen replied.

“Mr. Cohen, I want to ask you about your assertion the president may have improperly devalued his assets to avoid paying taxes. According to an August 21, 2016 report by The Washington Post, while the president claimed in financial disclosure forms that Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, was worth more than $50 million, he had reported otherwise to local tax authorities that the course was worth, quote, no more than $5 million,” Ocasio-Cortez noted.

“Mr. Cohen, do you know whether this specific report is accurate?” she asked.

“It’s identical to what he did at Trump National Golf Glub at Briarcliff Manor,” he replied.

“To your knowledge, was the president interested in reducing his local real estate bills, tax bills?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.

“Yes,” Cohen replied.

“How do you do that?” she asked.

“What you do is deflate the value of the asset and put in a request to the tax department for a deduction,” Cohen answered
 
Who is surprised he committed crimes?

He's part of the reason real estate is as high and corrupt as it is.

It's his type that has conned americans for decades.
 
So the guy who lied under oath and is going to prison for doing so ....

I hope he did cheat on his taxes. It is every citizens civic duty to pay as little in taxes as they can even if dishonestly.

Where is that written? Who thinks stealing from the citizenry is an act of conscience. Worse, the asshole was running for president and did not want to support the country he wanted to lead. This is reprehensible.

taxation is theft, and immoral. any resistance to taxation is a virtue.

He was lying to protect Trump. He was not lying to save himself. He is going to jail in about 2 weeks. What does he have to gain? You rightys never figure things out before you post.
 
Trump also committed bank fraud. Cohen was inside trumps syndicate for over a decade and was charged with doing much of his dirty work. What kind of person needs a full-time lawyer to scare and shake down people? That is not business as usual. I will feel good for America when Trump quits or goes to jail. Trump represents what is wrong with America. The laws do not apply to the wealthy, so they ignore them.
